In a stand-in for the occult figure of Baphomet, the hermaphrodite goat-headed divinity and darling of occultists and heavy metal musicians the world over, this version replaces the fierce goat head with a rubber horse-head party mask. The figure is opened at the bottom with a wooden sphere suspended within, like the wooden clapper of a bell. This piece is meant to lightheartedly pose questions about the nature of tradition, self-seriousness, fear of the unknown, and the inevitable distortion of received knowledge over time.
