Description
In the late spring of 2021, as the restrictions from the prior year of COVID-19-related lockdowns in San Francisco began to ease with the availability of vaccine supplies. With the city tentatively coming back together, hope for a return to social life, the heaviness of recent loss, and a nervous sense of anticipation filled the air. This sculpture was an attempt to recognize all the conflicting truths of the moment and, like the age-old symbol of the paper crane, offer strength, hope, and healing in the face of challenging times.
