Ram of the West
Description
An homage to Southern California’s rural, mountainous, ranching heritage, Ram of the West was commissioned as a sculptural anchor at the crossroads of two desert communities. The Desert Bighorn Sheep, denizen of harsh, barren climates, is the embodiment of adaptation, perseverance, and thriving in the face of the inevitable challenges of life. Today, the only Desert Bighorns left in the area are those in the Los Angeles zoo. What happens as our shared cultural archetypes and lived connections to the physical world fade into mere memory?
