california fever dreaming
A continuation in my exploration of Western themes and the examination of American masculinity. This piece was created as part of a series of maquettes exploring possible full- sized public installations. These figures were modeled after the once-ubiquitous children’s plastic “Cowboy and Indian” toys.
Here, two cowboy figures are reproduced in their original stances and garb, absent only their weaponry, rearranged into the melodramatic macho showdown of an aggressive handshake.
